The magic of asking YOURSELF questions
"I keep six honest serving-men, they taught me all I knew:
Their names are What and Why and When
And How and Where and Who" Rudyard Kipling
Where are these guys, you ask yourself? You'll find them all in you.
IMAGINE, there's a source of knowledge, guidance, inspiration, creativity,
help, available to you wherever and whenever you want it and all you have to
do is ask.
What will asking yourself questions do for you?
OPEN UP possibilities, creative solutions, aid decision-making, build your
business, enhance your relationships, and almost anything else you want.
When can you use it?
INSTANTLY, wherever you are, even when you are involved in the middle of a
busy situation, as this works FAST.
When you've got a bit of time, take your time and explore your questions and
answers at your leisure.
How do I go about it?
RELAX first, your ideal state is to be relaxed, focussed, alert and
expecting answers. A dash of fun and a sense of humour are good too. If
you're stressed, pressured, it's not going to work - that's why you haven't
got the answers already! Take a break, get into a good state, then ask.
When you experience success, reinforce your positive anchor to the good
state.
Which questions can you ask?
NOW, HERE are some suggestions for question starters. I recommend that you
drop "why" questions - not as useful - and substitute "which" questions.
Who can help me with this project ?
Has the answer - ?
Do I need to speak to - ?
Are my potential clients - ?
Is the decision maker - ?
What is the best next step - ?
Do my clients want - ?
Is the answer/solution - ?
Are the benefits - ?
Are the options - ?
Where can I find the information I need ?
Is the best place to - ?
Can I use this - ?
Are my potential clients - ?
When is the best time for me to - ?
Can I take the next step - ?
Are my potential clients most receptive - ?
How Can I resolve this disagreement / dilemma?
Can I raise my profile - ?
Can I be most effective - ?
Which is the best choice for me right now?
Would be most fun - ?
Component goes first - ?
Benefit is most important for my customer - ?
How do you get the answers?
It's easy! Since asking questions of either others OR yourself induces what
is called transderivational search in the brain, pay attention to the first
thing that comes to mind after you ask your question.
· Pay attention to the first thing that comes to mind after you ask
your question. Your answer may be in the form of a picture, a feeling, an
idea/words/voice inside; the answer often comes instantly, so go with the
first thing comes to you. After that you're back to conscious mind, second
guessing yourself, debating with yourself, thinking too much about it,
making it too hard. Go with the first thing. When you do, you reinforce
your information stream and encourage future successes.
· Use a tool to help you focus - such as a pendulum. This is for
those of you who need help to bypass your conscious mind and access answers
from other levels. Anyone who wants to know how to use a pendulum, email me
and I'll either reply or put the information in another article if enough
want it.
· Write down as fast as you can as many answers to your question as
possible for at least a couple of minutes. Only then examine which ones
provide the best possibilities.
· You realise you need more information, to ask someone else, to take
other action.
Where do the answers come from?
CHOOSE your own favourite theory; the key thing is that it works. My
favourite explanation is in two parts: mostly you've got all the pieces of
information stored away inside to give you your answer, you just haven't
been able to access them or put them together in the most useful way with
your conscious thinking processes. This method allows answers to come
direct from your unconscious, higher conscious (or whatever you want to call
it), accessing your creative genius. The second part of my favourite
explanation is that this method allows you to access and link up to
universal consciousness (or whatever else you want to call this) - the
universal database of all information existing anywhere.
ENJOY, have fun, oh, and do ask yourself, how can I get the best results
with the most fun enjoying the process!
